JUNO液闪在不锈钢容器中的老化研究

【摘要】 江门中微子实验(JUNO)中心探测器用到2万吨液体闪烁体(液闪),工程期间液闪将采用不锈钢材料作为存储容器,不锈钢容器在太阳下放置会达到较高的温度。因此研究液闪在不锈钢容器中经过较高温度老化后性能参数的变化对液闪存储容器的选材有重要意义。实验对存储着液闪的不锈钢罐放置于恒温箱加热至65℃和75℃,研究液闪在304和316型号不锈钢容器中光产额、衰减长度、吸收光谱性能参数变化。初步实验结果表明,光产额随着加热时间的推移有微量的减少,衰减长度明显减小,吸收光谱明显升高,应该避免将液闪储存在较高温度环境的不锈钢容器内。

【Abstract】 Jiangmen neutrino experiment will use 20 k tons of liquid scintillator(LS). Stainless steel will be used as LS container material during the project construction. So after high temperature aging, performance changes of liquid scintillator in stainless steel container have important significance. It tells which kind of stainless steel is better. 65℃ and 75℃ heating experiments are conducted on liquid scintillator. The experiment study the main property changes during LS aging, including light yield, attenuation length and absorption value. Results show that the light yield reduces slightly, but the attenuation length reduces obviously, and the absorption spectrum significantly increase. So storing liquid scintillator in high temperature stainless steel container should be avoid.
