Progress in Cathode Materials and Electrolytes for High-Voltage Lithium Ion Batteries

【摘要】 Lithium ion batteries(LIBs) have been the most efficient energy storage devices since their commercialization. LIBs have been widely applied to portable electronic devices and hold more prospects in electric vehicles and smart grids. For these applications, the energy density of LIBs needs to be improved significantly. Developing high-voltage LIBs is an important trend [1]. The performances of high-voltage LIBs highly depend on cathode materials and electrolytes. In recent years, high-voltage cathode materials, such as LiCoPO[2]4, LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4, and LiCoMnO4[3,4], and matched electrolytes including stable solvents and functional additives [5,6], have been investigated extensively. In this presentation, we will summarize the recent progress in high-voltage cathode materials and matched electrolytes. The problems and prospects of high-voltage LIBs will also be discussed.
