原子转移自由基聚合法合成侧链型磺化聚醚醚酮
Synthesis and properties of Comb-shaped sulfonated Poly(ether ether ketone) by ATRP

【摘要】 离子交换膜技术的应用领域涉及水处理、节能、食品和航空航天等方面,具有广泛的市场前景。ATRP聚合的活性可控的特性在质子交换膜的制备上得到了应用[1,2]。本研究以聚醚醚酮为基膜材料,先合成含甲基取代基PEEK,再对甲基进行溴化,在溴甲基位置引入双臂异丙基溴端基,并以此为ATRP大分子引发剂引发苯乙烯磺酸钠(StSO3Na)进行活性聚合,制备侧链型磺化PEEK接枝聚合物。这种侧链型磺化聚醚醚酮铸膜时选择高沸点溶剂与水作为溶剂,成膜时亲水的侧链段先聚集形成核,而与NMP相溶的主链段通常形成聚集体的壳[1]。用FTIR、1HNMR、TG和SEM等方法对PEEK-g-StSO3Na的结构进行表征。结果表明:苯乙烯磺酸钠成功的被接枝到聚醚醚酮主链上,PEEK-g-StSO3Na膜具有明显的亲水疏水微相分离结构,磺酸基团相互聚集成形成离子通道。离子交换容量为1.40 mmol/g的PEEK-g-StSO3Na膜的电导率为5.42×10-2S/cm,与Nafion117相当,但膜的溶胀率为8.14%低于Nafion膜的11.50%。在相同的IEC值下,侧链型PEEK-g-StSO3Na比主链型SPEEK具有更好的H+离子透过性能。
【Abstract】 Poly(ether ether ketone)(PEEK) was synthesized by the aromatic nucleophilic polycondensation reaction of 4, 4’-difluorobenzophenone, bisphenol A and 2-methylhydroquinone. Double-arm FPEEK macroinitiator containing isopropyl bromide end groups was obtained by bromination with NBS, hydroxylation with dimethylol propionate sodium and esterification reaction with bromo-2-methylpropionyl bromide. Comb-like PEEK-g-PStSO3Na(poly(Sodium styrenesulfonate)) was successfully synthesized via atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP) using double-arm FPEEK as macroinitiator and sulfonated styrene as monomer. The graft density, chain length and molecular structure were tailored by the bromination rate at the PEEK chain, ratio of SST to macroinitiator and the reaction time of ATRP. The membranes of PEEK-g-PStSO3Na were prepared by solution cast. The structure and morphology of PEEK-g-StSO3Na membrane were characterized by FT-IR, 1HNMR, TGA and SEM. The synthesized PEEK-g-StSO3Na is found to improve hydrophilic/hydrophobic phase separation. The ion exchange capacity(IEC) and water content of PEEK-g-StSO3Na was 1.41 mmol?g-1 and 50.9 %, respectively. However, it swelling ratio is 8.14 % which is lower than that of Nafion membrane(11.50%).
