基于磁光子晶体的可调谐太赫兹滤波器和开关

【摘要】 研制具有良好性能、便于集成的太赫兹滤波器、开关等功能器件,是应用和发展太赫兹技术的关键。本文研究了铁氧体磁性材料应用于太赫兹波导器件的可行性。利用铁氧体磁性材料的磁导率随外磁场改变而变化的性质,设计出了一种新颖的磁控连续可调谐太赫兹滤波器和开关。该方法不需改变晶体结构,仅需要调节外磁场大小,就可以方便地实现调谐功能。利用平面波展开法(Plane Wave Expansion,PWE)和时域有限差分法(Finite DifferenceTime Domain,FDTD)计算了二维磁光子晶体中外磁场变化对带隙位置和宽度的影响,结果显示应用该结构实现的滤波器和开关具有良好的性能。
【Abstract】 To develop terahertz functional devices such as filters and switches with high performance and easy to integrate is a key point to applying and developing terahertz technology.We investigate the feasibility of ferrite magnetism materials applying to THz waveguide devices.A novel continuously tunable bandpass filter and switch under the control of an external magnetic field at the terahertz wave band are designed.This method is easy to be operated because there is no need to change the structure of crystals.The tuning function is achieved only by changing the external magnetic field.Detailed calculations on the shifts and variations in the position of the bandgap reveal that the filter and switch achieved by this two-dimensional magnetic photonic crystal waveguide have good performance.
