Research Progress of Electro-Deposition of Aluminum

【摘要】 <正>Aluminum is the reactive metal with the more negative reduction potential,so the production of aluminum are more complicated than those of any metal.We have discussed the major processes of aluminum production:one is the Hall-Heroult process in which the electrolyte(molten salts) that composed of Cryolite(Na3AlF6),alumina(Al2O3) and some additives were used at high temperature. The other is the electro-deposition of aluminum form ionic liquids(Ils).Both of there properties,mechanisms of electrolysis and faced problems were investigated.We got a conclusion that the new and efficient green technology is the inevitable trend of aluminum future industrial development.
