Lightweight Address Transition Technology for the Next Generation Internet

【摘要】 随着IPv4地址即将耗尽,IPv4向IPv6过渡已成为必经之路,IPv4与IPv6将在很长时间内共存。然而,由于IPv4和IPv6的协议不兼容,导致IPv4向IPv6过渡时出现不同协议类型无法直接访问等诸多问题。因此,如何实现IPv4与IPv6共存期的应用互访和平滑演进是实现IPv4向IPv6成功过渡的基础。本文提出了一种新型的轻量级IPv6过渡技术——LAFT6,重点介绍了LAFT6过渡技术的应用场景、系统架构及实现方案,并分析了其在运营部署中的考虑点。
【Abstract】 With the exhaustion of IPv4 address,it has become a must to transit from IPv4 to IPv6.IPv4 and IPv6 will coexist for a long time.However,since IPv4 and IPv6 protocols are not compatible,there will be a lot of problems when applications with different protocols communicate direcdy in IPv4/IPv6 transition period.Therefore,how to achieve application transparency and smooth evolution for heterogeneous protocols is fundamental to achieve a success transition of IPv6.In this paper,we introduce a new lightweight address translation technology for IPv6:LAFT6.We mainly describe its application scenarios,system architecture and implementation.Moreover,we also analyze the considerations for deployment in operational network.
