【Abstract】 Watermelon contains high Vc contents.There are no reports on Vc contents changes in watermelon fruit during its development.10 watermelon(Citrullus lanatus) Cultivars including their different ploidy(diploid,triploid crossed with 4x×2x and autotetraploid induced by colchicine) were selected.The Vc contents in mature fruits were determined and the changes of Vc in different ploidy watermelon were determined during their fruits development.The results showed that the Vc contents were significant difference in different ploidy watermelon.The Vc contents in triploid or tetraploid were higher than in diploid in nine cultivars.It was significantly different(P<0.05).The changes curves of Vc contents change of two cultivars were similar.The Vc contents in young fruits and ripe fruits were higher than in growing fruits.The changes trends of Vc contents showed a"V"shape curve.It appeared the peak value in order for 2x,3x,4x.The diploid was higher,the peak value came out later.The period of the highest Vc contents was mature fruits for different ploidy watermelon.The peak time of diploid watermelon appeared earlier than triploid and tetraploid.更多还原
