Consolidation Analysis of Soils by Elasto-plastic Constitutive Models

【摘要】 <正>This paper describes an analysis of a"Slurry-Fall-Fill"Dam in China by finite element technique. The formulation follows the general variational principle of Biot’s coupled problem of consolidation with the incorporation of nonlinear elastoplastic constitutive relationship for soils.The characterization of soil behaviour by four equations relating the elastic bulk modulus K,elastic shear modulus G,strain hardening parameter H,and yield function fas used in the elasto-plastic model is formulated.Finally,the results of the finite element analysis,including the distribution of vertical displacement and pore water pressure in the dam are presented.
