【Abstract】 In this paper,seismicity and the characteristics of focal mechanism of strong earthquakes in the western Pacific transition zone and its neighbourhood are analyzed.In spite of how different are the locations and depths of foci which are related to the different parts of tectonics,the characteristics of focal mechanism of these earthquakes are mainly controlled by common cause of tectonic movement.The feature of geophysical data including gravity,magnetism,seismic wave etc.,and some parameters obtained by quantitative inversion reveal that the difference of structure of lithosphere and different tectonic stress level make the different seismicities. In order to make a valuable prediction of strong earthquake in this area,the details of structure of lithosphere have to be prospected.更多还原
