【Abstract】 This paper attempts to describe the function of seminars in scientific research and its role in academic exchanges through"brain storming"from the viewpoint of history and methodology of mechanics.With the analysis of formation and development of the seminar in the Shanghai Institute of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics,we lay emphasis on the long-term effect of organizing the seminar in pursuing scientific work,in order to popularize this effective kind of activities.更多还原
