【Abstract】 Drawing on some of the progresses in the study of discourse cohesion, the article argues that phonological cohesion is very important and indispenable in both Chinese and English discourses. Through illustrations, it discusses the main types of phonological cohesion, such as deaccentualization of the coreferents, cohesion by intonation etc. and elaborates phonological cohesions adopted in Chinese and English and their differences, indicating the significance of studying phonological cohesions.更多还原
