高性能电纺聚酰亚胺纳米纤维

【Abstract】 Electrospun polymer nanofibers are a kind one-dimensional nanomaterial with diameter ranging from about a nanometer to a few microns and the fiber length scaling in meters. If this kind nanofibers were strong enough, the nanofiber nonwoven fabric could be directly used to make protective clothing, super-filters and etc. without other support materials. Polyimide was a kind high performance material with high heat-resistance and excellent mechanical properties. The nanofibers made from polyamic acid were converted into polyimide nanofibers by curing at high temperature. The high strength polymer nanofiber were made based on the conversion process at high temperature, at which the narrow nano-space of nanofiber made the macromolecules with chain length larger than the diameter of the nanofiber oriented along the direction of the nanofiber axis to a certain extent. In this reported work, the tensile test of single rigid rod-like polyimide, poly(p-phenylene biphenyltetracarboximide) (BPDA/PDA), nanofibers showed that the electrospun polymer nanofibers had a high average tensile strength of 1.6 GPa, modulus of about 73 GPa.
