【Abstract】 Methyl tin laurate is synthesized from lauric acid and mixture of methyl chloride in alkalescent condition, and the yield is 98% in laboratory. Thermal stabilizer of methyl tin laurate for PVC was studied. The static thermal stability of PVC was tested by means of Congo Red Method, and the dynamic thermal stability was tested by means of Rheometer, and the aging-resistance was tested by means of Oven. The result shows that the short-term heat stability and long-term heat stability of PVC with methyl tin thiolycollate was better than that with methyl tin laurate, however the dehydrochlorination temperature of PVC were comparable for the two stabilizers. Researched by Rheometer, it shows that the lubricity of methyl tin laurate was better than that of methyl tin thiolycollat’s. It was found that methyl tin laurate had good synergistic effect with methyl tin thiolycollat, and when the compounding ratio of methyl tin laurate with methyl tin thiolycollat was 1:1 respectively, the thermal stability of PVC mixed with the mixture of methyl tin laurate and methyl tin thiolycollat was the same as that of PVC mixed with methyl tin thiolycollat, but the lubricity and process ability was better. Added 1.5g Addition A into 100g methyl tin laurate, it shows the best effect of improving to the beginning color of PVC with the mixture.
