【Abstract】 Faced with the serious pollution, environment conservation becomes the focus of attention. Thus the exploration of high specific surface area carbon materials plays an important role in solving the problem. In this paper, the micro-mesoporous carbon with high specific surface area was prepared from rice husk using carbonate as activating agent. Although K2CO3 has a lower activity than alkali hydrate, it has the advantage in the application such as protection of the production equipment. The distribution of pore diameter and the adsorption-desorption curves of the micro-mesoporous carbons were investigated. The mechanism of activation reaction was discussed .
