【Abstract】 From March to May in 2001, and in May 2005, a primary investigation on protozoa in Baiyangdian Lake was made. Seven sites were set up to get water samples. In these samples, forty-five species of protozoa were detected, which proved belong to two phyla, Sarcomastigophora and Ciliophora. In phylum Ciliophora, there were three classes, as class Kinetofragminophora, class Oligophymenophora and class Polyhymenophora. Except for that work, the main ecological factors and the distribution of the protozoa were also analyzed.
