【Abstract】 With the rapid expansion of computer networks during the past few years, intrusion detection, as the most important way, has become a crucial issue for modern computer systems. The research and application of artificial neural networks also becomes the most popular hotpot all over the world in the last decades. This paper enumerates the international related research on intrusion detection by using neural networks and presented the pro and cons of the neural network approaches. An intrusion detection system model is proposed based on artificial neural networks.
