【Abstract】 In the medical field, images used for diagnostics and therapy are produced in ever-increasing quantities and content-based image retrieval (CBIR) in medicine has been drawing more and more attention in recent years. It introduces CBIR systems, and gives a short overview of benefits from the use of content-based access methods in medical applications and the key techniques.
