【Abstract】 PURPOSE: To compare the effects between Pingyangmycin and sodium morrhuate in treatment of venous malformations (cavernous hemangiomas) in oral and maxillofacial region. METHODS: The medical records of 46 patients with venous malformations in the oral and maxillofacial regions between January 1998 and January 2004 were reviewed. Pingyangmycin(1mg/ml) or sodium morrhuate was injected into the lesions of the venous malformations, and the injection repeated every 7 to14 days for 3 to 5 times as one course. RESULTS: All the patients were followed up for 5 months to 5 years. The curative rates of venous malformations that 23 patients were treated with injection of Pingyangmycin was 73.91%, the rates of no response was 4.35%, the overall response rate was 95.65%. The curative rates of patients with injection of sodium morrhuate was 56.52%,the rates of no response was 17.39%, the overall response rate was 82.61%. CONCLUSION: The method of intralesional injection of Pingyangmycin or sodium morrhuate for venous malformations in oral and maxillofacial region was an effective therapy. But, the method of intralesional injection of Pingyangmycin is better than sodium morrhuate.更多还原
