【Abstract】 As a cultural embodiment of China’s revolutionary legacy,Red Classic literature carries the dual significance of preserving collective memory and shaping national identity. Its cinematic adaptations transcend mere historical retellings, functioning as cultural governance practices that reinterpret heroic narratives within contemporary contexts. This study investigates the evolution of heroic narratives in Red Classic film adaptations, deconstructing their narrative patterns to challenge static paradigms in traditional revolutionary art studies.Theoretically,it redefines the conceptual trajectory of"heroism"and establishes a framework mapping narrative transformations.Practically,it examines the interplay of political, economic, technological, and intergenerational factors shaping these adaptations, while strategically tracing how heroic narratives evolve from state-aligned discourse to cross-media meaning production. This inquiry holds critical implications for sustaining cultural heritage across generations and advancing China’s discursive agency in global cultural dialogues. The evolution of heroic narratives in Red Classic adaptations reflects the adaptive strategies of mainstream cultural expression across societal shifts.Theoretically, this study reconstructs the historical genesis of Red Classic literature, traces the semantic evolution of heroism, and delineates narrative archetypes to form a conceptual system blending historical depth and analytical rigor.Through diachronic analysis,it identifies driving forces behind narrative transformations:the institutionalized construction of collectivist symbols during early socialist development, the secular reconfiguration amid market reforms, and the emergence of cross-media ecosystems enabled by digital technologies. This evolutionary process balances cultural continuity with adaptive responses to technological and generational shifts.By systematically analyzing dynamic generative mechanisms, the research uncovers the logic behind narrative transitions—from symbolic collectivism to secular engagement and participatory co-creation—under the converging influences of political, economic, cultural, and technological forces. It further explores how revolutionary ethics are reconfigured into modern spiritual resources and proposes solutions to challenges in mediatized societies. The study not only charts the transformative trajectory of China’s heroic narratives but also contributes to global civilizational discourse by offering insights into narrative reinvention that harmonize historical resonance with contemporary relevance.
