【摘要】 本研究基于Bachman的test method facets理论框架,旨在探究线上、线下两种测试模式和三种常见的测试题型(选择题、填空题和简答题)对二语学习者阅读测试成绩的影响,以及测试模式和测试题型之间的交互作用对测试效果的影响。来自中国东北某高校的两个平行班的48位英语专业大一学生参与本次实验。每班均要在两种测试模式下进行相关的阅读测试,每份测试试卷均包含三篇文章,每篇文章分别测试一种题型。研究中线上数据收集借助雨课堂软件,实验数据包括不同模式下的学生测试成绩及跟踪调查问卷。通过比较不同的测试模式和测试题型对二语学习者的阅读理解成绩的影响发现,不同的测试模式和测试形式对学生阅读测试成绩都存在不同影响。其中线下测试效果比线上测试好;无论是线上模式还是线下模式,多项选择题的正确率都最高,填空题的正确率相比较低。在线下测试模式中,运用多项选择题和填空题可以更好的区别学生的阅读理解能力,在线上测试模式中,使用多项选择题和填空题或多项选择题和简答题对学生的测试成绩影响更显著。最后,虽然测试模式和测试题型都对二语学习者的阅读测试成绩有显著的影响,但是两个变量间的交互作用不显著。测试模式对测试成绩的影响不因题型的变化而改变,测试题型对测试成绩的影响也不因模式的变化而改变。本研究希望可以对外语教学和外语测试提供一些有价值的启示。教师通过了解不同测试题型的测试效果,能够合理的设计试卷;本研究也将为教师更好地应对逐渐常态化的线上测试提供参考。更多还原

【Abstract】 This study,based on Bachman’s test method facets theoretical framework,aims to explore the effects of paper-based and computer-based modes and three common response formats(i.e.,multiple-choice question,gap-filling question,and short-answer question)on EFL learners’ reading test scores as well as the impact of the interaction between the test mode and response format on the test results.Forty-eight freshmen English majors from two parallel classes in a university in northeast China participated in this experiment.Each class was subject to a relevant reading test in two test modes.Each reading test paper contains three passages,and each one tests one type of format.The online data collection in the study was done with the help of Rain Classroom software and the sources of data include students’ test scores under different test modes and a follow-up questionnaire.By comparing the effects of different test modes and response formats on the participants’ reading comprehension scores,we found that different test modes and response formats have different effects on students’ reading test scores.Among them,the score of paper-based tests is higher than that of computer-based tests.Whether under the paper-based or computer-based test,the correct rate of multiple-choice questions is the highest,and the gap-filling question is relatively low.In the paper-based mode,multiple-choice and gap-filling questions can better differentiate students’ reading comprehension.In the computer-based mode,the combination of multiple-choice and gap-filling questions or multiple-choice and short-answer questions significantly impacts students’ test scores.Finally,although both test mode and response format significantly affect L2 learners’ reading test scores,the interaction between the two variables is not significant.That is,the influence of the test modes on the test score does not change due to the change of the response formats and the influence of the response formats on the test score does not change due to the change of the test modes.This study may provide some valuable insights into foreign language teaching and foreign language testing.Teachers can design the test papers reasonably by understanding the testing effect of different response formats.The research can also provide reference for teachers to better respond to the increasing normalization of the online testing.更多还原
