【摘要】 本文主要由三部分构成,即源文本、译文和翻译实践报告。源文本是澳大利亚历史学家、国家词典中心主任Amanda Laugesen和澳大利亚南昆士兰大学的讲师Richard Gehrmann的专著《从历史和当代的视角看战争时期的交际、口译与语言》。本报告选取第二章作为译本,总字数为13115字。第二章是全书的代表性章节,聚焦澳大利亚士兵在第一次世界大战和伊拉克阿富汗反恐战争中的跨文化交际体验,探讨语言如何影响和反映他们国家意识和自己的身份认同感,为战争语境中的语言问题提供了一个研究视角。卡特福德把翻译研究同语言学的理论相结合,他的翻译转换理论试图从层次转换和范畴转换的角度制定语际之间转换的规则和技巧。其中层次转换主要体现在词汇和语法层面之间的转换,而范畴转换从类别、结构、单位及系统内部转换四个角度阐述了翻译转换理论的应用。鉴于源文本属于学术专著,书中摘录了一战中大量士兵的家书、日记及反恐战争中对美国军事术语的分析和借用,翻译过程涉及大量的词性、句子层面以下的分析和转换,因此本文采取了层次转换和范畴转换中的类别转换、结构转换和单位转换理论来指导本次翻译实践,旨在探讨和验证卡特福德的翻译转换理论对学术文本翻译的指导意义,试图为学术文本翻译提供一定的参考价值,同时引起人们对战争这个多语言环境对语言发展的影响研究方面的兴趣。更多还原

【Abstract】 This thesis consists of three parts: Source Text,Target Text,and Translation Report.The source text is extracted from Communication,Interpreting and Language in Wartime: Historical and Contemporary Perspectives,published in January 2020 by Palgrave Macmillan,and written by Amanda Laugesen,an associate professor,director and chief editor in the Australian National Dictionary Centre of the Australian National University and Richard Gehrmann,the senior lecturer at the University of Southern Queensland.The book consists of five sections.The translator chooses Section II(13,115 words in total)as the source text to translate.This part focuses on how Australian soldiers experienced crosscultural communication in World War I,the Iraq and Afghan wars,and how such communication reflected their own sense of identity and their cultural understandings.Section II as a representative part in the entire book provides a research perspective on questions of language in the context of war.Catford combines translation studies with linguistic theories to regulate the process of translation.His Shifts Theory formulates the rules and techniques of interlingual transformation from dimensions of level shifts and category shifts.Level shifts explores shifts in lexis level and grammar level,while category shifts include class shifts,unit shifts,structure shifts and instra-system shifts that elaborate translation skills systematically.Concerning the source text is an academic text which extracts a number of soldiers’ letters and diaries,a lot of vocabulary conversions and analysis under the syntactic level are involved during the translation.Through both theoretical and practical inquiry,the translation practice seeks to provide some reference value to the translation of academic texts under the guidance of level shift and category shift(class shift,unit shift,and structure shift).Furthermore,it possibly can arouse people’s interest in language research in the context of war.更多还原
