【摘要】 译者素养是译者能力和素质在各方面的综合体现,表现为译者根据不同的翻译情境和目的建构翻译的自主性、灵活性和创造性,不同的文本类型对于译者有不同的素养要求。当前,学界对于译者素养的讨论比较宏观,就科幻小说译者素养的探讨尚不多见。郭建中教授认为科幻小说翻译应具备文学性、科学性和通俗性这三大特点,这一要求也决定了科幻小说译者应具备的素养包括文学素养、科学素养和读者意识。科幻小说《三体3:死神永生》在国际上获得了巨大成功,将中国科幻文学推向了世界的高度,这极大地归功于译者刘宇昆的翻译。本文依据郭建中教授提出的科幻小说翻译标准,拟从文学素养、科学素养和读者意识三个层面来探讨该英译本中译者素养和科幻小说特点再现的关系。本文分为四章。第一章论述译者素养这一概念的构成及其发展并提出科幻小说译者素养的构成要素。第二章从译者的文学素养来探讨译者对《死神永生》的文学性再现,认为译者的文学审美能力使其很好地再现了原文的修辞效果和美感;译者的文学理解与表达能力使其准确地理解并传达出中国俗语的意义,同时创造出陌生化的文学效果。第三章从译者的科学素养来探讨译者对《死神永生》中科学性的再现,认为译者的科学想象力对科幻新词的翻译大有裨益,译者通过对新词的合理想象,确保了新词的准确性;同时,译者的科学逻辑思维和专业知识对科幻场景的翻译至关重要,译者通过重新梳理原文的科学逻辑生动地再现了科幻场景。第四章从译者的读者意识来分析译者对《死神永生》中通俗性的再现,首先,译者考虑到读者的性别价值取向,通过改写和减译的方式提高了译文的可接受性;其次,译者考虑到读者的背景知识量,在处理隐含背景和文化负载词时,通过增译相关背景知识有效地减少了读者的阅读障碍。从以上分析可以看出,科幻小说作为一种特殊的文学类型,对译者素养的要求有别于其他文类。优秀的科幻译者应具备多元素养,如较好的文学功底、科学素养和读者意识等,这有助于科幻小说特点的再现,使具有中国特色的科幻小说更好的走向世界。同时,希望本文能为其他文类的译者素养研究带来一定的启示,丰富译者素养的相关研究。更多还原

【Abstract】 The makings of a translator are the combination of a translator’s competence and quality.It is mainly embodied in the translator’s subjectivity,flexibility and creativity in the construction of translation according to the translation context and purpose.Different types of text have different requirements to the makings of a translator.So far,researches about the makings of a translator are relatively general and researches related to the makings of a translator in science fiction are rarely found.Professor Guo Jianzhong holds that the translation of science fiction should be featured with literariness,scientificity and popularity,which decides that science fiction translators should equip themselves with literary accomplishments,scientific literacy and reader consciousness.Death’s End,the third volume of The Three-Body Trilogy,has achieved a huge success abroad and pushed the Chinese science fiction to the world level.This largely attributes to Liu’s translation.According to the translation criterion of science fiction put forward by Professor Guo,this thesis attempts to analyze the relationship between the makings of a translator and the reproduction of the features of science fiction in the English version of Death’s End from the aspects of literary accomplishments,scientific literacy and reader consciousness.The thesis is divided into four chapters.The first chapter examines the formation and development of the concept of the making of a translator and further puts forward the formation of the makings of a translator in science fiction translation.The second chapter,concerned with how Ken Liu’s literary accomplishments help him to reproduce the literariness of Death s End,discusses the way Ken Liu deals with the rhetorical devices with literary aesthetic ability on the one hand and the way he translates Chinese idioms with his literary comprehension and expressive ability on the other.It points out that Ken Liu’s literary aesthetic ability helps him to reproduce the rhetorical effects and aesthetics of the original text and he has completely comprehended and transmitted the meaning of Chinese idioms as well as created the defamiliarization effect.The third chapter focuses on how the translator remains the scientificity of Death ’s End by virtue of his scientific literacy,emphasizes the importance of translator’s scientific imagination in translating science fiction neologisms and declares that translator’s scientific logical thinking and knowledge in science are of great significance to the translation of scientific phenomena.It holds that Ken Liu has conveyed the meaning of neologisms accurately by reasonable imagination and reproduced scientific phenomena vividly by rearranging the scientific logic order.The fourth chapter probes into how the translator represents the popularity of Death’s End with reader consciousness.Having taken the target reader’s gender value orientation into account,Ken Liu has effectively enhanced the acceptability of Death’s End by rewriting and omission.With the consideration of the target reader’s background knowledge,Ken Liu has diminished the reading obstacle by amplification to make up the missing background and by literal translation with footnotes to explain the culture-loaded words.From the analysis above,it can be concluded that science fiction,as a special genre of literature,has special requirements for the makings of a translator different from those of other genres of text.Excellent science fiction translators need to equip themselves with good literary accomplishments,scientific literacy and reader consciousness,which can not only contribute to the reproduction of the features of science fiction and but also bring the science fictions with Chinese characteristics into the world stage.It is hoped that this thesis will provide a keen insight into researches about the makings of a translator in other genres of text and enrich the related studies of science fiction translation.更多还原
