【摘要】 本文是一篇英译汉翻译项目报告,所选取的翻译项目为美国当代著名女作家艾德里安娜·里奇所著《生为女人:作为经验与体制的母亲身份》中的第四章:“母亲的主体性”和第七章:“隔离的分娩”。作为一位女性诗人,一位女权主义者和一位母亲,她利用自己的生活、历史、调查和文学创造了这部著作。笔者翻译的部分主要是关于女性作为母亲所拥有的延续生命的力量和母亲身份在历史文化中的独特价值。作者列举了不同作家对于前父权制社会的不同理解和描述,通过对母亲身份的探寻和分析,证明女性不仅是社会的生产者和稳定者,还是生命的延续者,有着不可亵渎的神圣力量。不同于二十世纪六十年代女性对母亲身份的消极态度,里奇的《生为女人:作为经验与体制的母亲身份》展现出了母亲身份的积极面貌,认为女性的母亲身份是其生理构造的不同所致,母亲身份的角色经验应该与其政治体制区分开来。母亲也好、妻子也好、情人也好,任何一种性别角色身份都只是一种社会建构、一种性别经验。她有自己独立的意识,而非男性社会的附庸。本篇翻译项目报告,笔者选取了本书中的第四章和第七章中的部分语句作为重点分析对象,原文提到大量的国外作家和其作品名称,而这些内容又是基于对母权制和女性母亲身份的研究。此外,原文中频繁使用长难句和断句,名词化现象普遍,因此在翻译时需要反复斟酌。此次翻译实践令笔者受益匪浅,并得到如下启示:翻译前,必须了解相关历史背景知识,了解作者的写作意图,正确把握这些章节的主题内容。在翻译过程中,笔者以目的论原则为指导,灵活运用增减重合法,切合转移法和反面着笔法等翻译技巧,对名词化单词进行了词性转换,将长难句进行拆分,力求使译文准确传达出原文信息,语言表达流畅自然。翻译后,译文要通读多遍、审查数次以确保译文质量。更多还原

【Abstract】 This is a project report on the translation of Chapter Ⅳ:The Primacy of the Mother and Chapter Ⅶ:Alienated Labor in Of Woman Born:Motherhood as Experience and Institution,which is written by a famous contem,porary American female writer Adrienne Rich.As a woman,a poet,a feminist,and a mother,she draws on personal materials,history,research,and literature to create a document of universal importance.The Chapter IV and Chapter VII mainly discuss the childbearing power of motherhood and its uniqueness throughout the history.Different works concerning prepatriarchal societies have been listed in this part.Through the analysis of motherhood,a woman was not merely a producer and stabilizer of life,but also a transformer with sacred power.This book shows the positive side of motherhood,which has greatly changed the general negative ideas to motherhood in 1960s.Rich agrees that it is the physical structure of woman that makes her to be a mother and motherhood as experience should be distinguished from motherhood as institution.No matter what roles she plays,a mother,a wife or a lover,her gender identity conforms to the request of social construction and the experience as a woman.She is not the subordinate of men,but the one that has independent self consciousness.In this translation project report,some key sentences and words have been chosen and analyzed for solutions towards obstacles in translation,involving many foreign writers and their works which are based on the study of matriarchy and motherhood.Meanwhile,the original text is characterized by using long and complicated sentences,sentence fragments and nominalization,thus the author needs to think twice when translating.Through doing this translation project,the author has benefited a lot and drawn the following conclusion:Before translation starts,we should learn more about historical background information and be aware of the subject content and the author’s writing intention.When the translation proceeds,we can use some translation strategies under the guidance of skopostheorie,translating long sentences in ways of amplification,omission,repetition,negation,division and shifting,so to make our text more acceptable.After the first translation is completed,we should read through the translation version and do proofreading for many times in order to secure the high-quality translation.更多还原
