【Abstract】 The Wushan Campus of South China University of Technology(SCUT), which is situated in the Shipai College Center of Tianhe District, Guangzhou, constitutes the Shipai Campus of National Sun Yet-san University with the South China Agricultural University, the Agricultural Science Institute and the Wushan Campus of the Guangdong Vocational College of Foreign Languages Art. As the topography of SCUT has many ups and downs, the buildings in there are sitting on the mountains and distribute dispersedly. From the time when Sun Yet-san found the National Guangdong University(which renamed as National Sun Yet-san University) till now, the buildings in SCUT have experienced many diversification. Among them, the construction, reconstruction and building additions related closely with the mountain buildings have witnessed the transformation to the land of SCUT of people. This thesis firstly summarized the research status and meaning related to mountain buildings. Then it traces back to the history of the mountain building design process and assisted with the words, the design graphics and the photos, it researches on the mountain buildings and the outside space of the campus, which provide thoroughly historic and basic information for the campus mountain buildings nowadays. Also, it concludes that the layout of SCUT is based on the early planning of the shape of a “clock”, then the construction density is growing larger and larger. The vertical and horizontal axis is strengthening. Based on the historic information researched above, it records the present statues of mountain environment and buildings by drawing down the plans and sections as well as taking photos and analyzes the design characteristics of mountain buildings and evaluates them in classification. It reaches to conclusions that the mountain environment has masterly utilizes the topography, organizes the transportation of the tablelands, and the mountain buildings has diverse earthing forms related to the topography as well as utilizes the “uncertain entrance” to organize the space of the buildings. Lastly, combining the present status of the mountain environment and buildings, it puts out the protection and utilization strategy of the mountain environment and buildings, and points out that the focal point of protection lies in the protection of the topography, the organization of the transportation and the manufacture of the landscape. It should adopt the method of the combination management of the buildings and the environment. Also, it raises out several advices covering from mountain environment to building groups to single building, and further applies to the future transformation of the environment and buildings both in SCUT and other mountain campus. The final target of the thesis is to provide the valuable references for the future transformation of mountain environment and buildings of SCUT by the research stated above, and provide references for the more and more transformation of traditional mountain campus and construction of newly-built campus.
