USB 3.1高频线路在手机柔板上的应用及信号完整性管控

【摘要】 随着智能手机系统对信号传输速率及时钟频率的要求不断提高,数据快速传输协议也应运而生。USB应用者论坛USB-IF于2013年发布了USB 3.1规范,理论数据传输速度最高可达到10Gbps,是USB2.0传输速度的20倍,相比USB3.0标准也提高了一倍以上。但当如此高速信号经过柔性线路板的互连线时会产生延迟、反射、衰减、串扰、色散等信号完整性问题。因此信号完整性问题成为USB 3.1技术在手机上应用的关键因素,也是手机高速数字系统设计是否成功的关键问题之一。本文针对USB的总线特点,基于USB Type C接口的优势,研究了将USB 3.1技术应用在手机柔板互连线上的关键即信号完整性问题。首先从分析柔性线路板的特性和工艺入手,结合传输线原理和性能,全面分析了柔性线路板在高频影响下的传输线阻抗管控和插入损耗等关键性因素及将其应用到手机高速差分互连系统的信号完整性的影响。并近一步探讨了如何在现有工艺制程和不增加成本的基础上提高USB传输线的信号完整性的方法。还初步研究了高频信号对USB电源线的温度上升和信号线EMI管控的影响。最后,完成了智能手机中USB3.1柔性传输线路板的电路设计、布局与布线,并对USB3.1信号线阻抗值和插入损耗进行了仿真分析;对实际制造的线路板USB3.1信号进行了阻抗测试,并通过眼图分析了通讯讯号质量。通过本项目的研究,解决了USB3.1信号线的信号完整性问题,建立了基于USB3.1的手机柔性线路板设计规则,从而指导高速手机线路电路的设计。
【Abstract】 With the requirements of the smart phone system to the signal transmission rate and the frequency of the clock frequency, the high data rate transmission protocol is also came into being. USB forμm USB-IF released the new USB 3.1 specification in 2013, the theoretical data transmission speed can reach 10Gbps, is 20 times the transmission speed of USB2.0, and compared to the USB3.0 standard is also more than doubled. However, when such a high speed signal is go through with the flexible circuit board, it will have signal integrity problems, such as signal delay, reflection, attenuation, crosstalk, dispersion, etc.. Therefore, signal integrity issues become the key factor in the application of USB 3.1 technology in the mobile phone system, and it’s also one of the key issues in the design of high speed digital system.This paper in view of the characteristics of USB bus, based on the advantage of USB type C interface to discuss application USB 3.1 technology in mobile phone flex interconnection line the key is signal integrity problems. Firstly, analyzed the characteristics and process of the flexible circuit boards Combine with transmission line theory and performance, analyzed the key factor of the transmission line impedance control and insertion loss are the effect of the signal integrity of the high frequency transmission line. And further discussed how to improve the signal integrity of USB transmission line based on the existing process and no increase in cost. The effect of high frequency signal on the temperature rise and EMI control of USB power supply line is also studied. Finally, complete the smart phone USB3.1 flexible transmission line in the circuit design, layout and wiring, and simulated and analyzed usb3.1 signal line impedance value and the insertion loss. Measurement the actual manufacturing circuit board usb3.1 signal impedance date, use Eye Diagram to check the signal quality. Through the research of this project, the signal integrity problem of USB3.1 signal line is solved, and established the flexible circuit board design rules for apply USB3.1 technology in mobile phone.
