基于存储器和查找表算法的无运算单元电池电量检测系统芯片设计

【摘要】 近年来,随着移动设备的飞速发展,电池成为越来越多的电子设备的主要电源,与之伴随而来的电池电源管理正成为研究的热点。除此之外,随着传统能源的日益枯竭,新能源机动车也正变得日益火热,而且,电动自行车早已遍布中国的大街小巷。所以,电池的电源管理正变得日益重要起来,这其中电池电量检测是极为重要的一个部分,准确的电池电量检测可以极大的方便用户的使用。本文便围绕铅酸电池的电量检测问题展开,提出了一种基于查找表与电量计数器相结合的无运算单元电量检测方法。当电池处于轻负载状态时,用查找表的办法将存储器中存储的电量数据读出,得到电池电量;当电池在使用并处于重负载状态时,用电量计数器指示电量值,电量计数器会随着放电电流的大小或快或慢的逐步减少,这一过程由随电流值变化的数字频率合成器控制,其中并未采用积分等运算单元,实现了较小的面积。最后,基于上述电流检测方案,设计了一款测试芯片,并搭建系统进行了测试。该测试系统将数字部分置于FPGA中实现,测试芯片上包含ADC、存储器和温度传感器等模块,经过系统实测,实现了电量检测的功能,验证了该电池电量检测方案的正确性。

【Abstract】 As the fast development of portable electronic devices, battery has become more and more important in the power system, and power management has become an important issue for an electronics system. Besides, since the energy crisis is coming, novel automobile research such as e-cars research has become an important issue these days, and e-bike is already all over China. So, Power Management research is quite a meaningful research issue nowadays, and gasgauge is a critical part which could help customer to know the battery status during usage.In this paper, the Acid-Pb battery gasgauge is focused on, and a method based on Look-Up-Table and gasgauge counter is proposed to moniter battery’s status. When the battery is not in usage, LUT is used to get the battery’s status by reading the battery’s open circuit voltage and temperature; when the battery is in usage, gasgauge counter which is controlled by the battery’s output current value is used to get the battery’s status.At the last part, a test chip based on the scheme proposed has been tapeout. The chip is composed of ADC, RRAM and temperature sensor, and the digital part is put out of the chip and on a FPGA. By system level test, the proposed gasgauge method could be proved to work effeciently.
