【摘要】 科技英语一般指在自然科学和工程技术方面的科学著作、论文、教科书、科技报告和学术演讲中所使用的英语。科技英语常采用省略结构和被动语态，并大量采用长句结构，科技英语的文体以议论文和说明文为主，其行文特点比较客观、确切、明晰、严密、简练，这些特点都是由科技文献自身的特点和内容所决定的。随着科学技术的不断发展，新的产品和技术不断出现，这就需要新的词汇为它们命名，因此，在科技英语翻译中，复合词,尤其是复合名词的翻译尤其值得重视，从某种意义上说，对于复合名词能否处理得妥当会直接影响到整篇科技文章的翻译水平。表面上似乎复合名词的各组成部分是相互独立的，但是，事实上，这些相对独立的部分共同表达一个完整的概念。本文首先简要阐述科技英语复合名词翻译的基本理论知识，然后通过对一万字左右关于“纳米/微光子学及新应用程序”的翻译实践进行分析，着重探讨科技文献中复合名词的翻译技巧。本论文第一章对本研究主题的研究背景、研究方法、论文结构和理论与实际意义进行简要介绍。第二章对科技复合词及科技复合名词进行了阐释，并介绍了科技复合名词的研究现状。第三章是全文的重点，从四个角度分析科技复合名词的翻译，它们分别为常规理解和翻译、逆向理解和翻译、译出语义功能和译出逻辑关系，并针对每一种翻译方法列举一些案例和进行具体分析。最后一章侧重探讨译者在翻译科技复合名词时遇到的问题，并结合案例分析尝试为科技英语复合名词翻译寻找合适的解决方法。更多还原

【Abstract】 English for science and technology （EST） refers to English which is used inscientific writings, papers, textbooks, science and technology reports and academiclectures on the aspects of natural science and engineering technology. EST uses thestructure of ellipsis and the passivity constantly, and it also uses a large number of thestructure of long sentences. The type of writing of EST are mainly argumentation andexposition, and its features are relatively objective, precise, distinct, strict and brief,and they are decided by the contents and characteristics of the scientific and technicalliterature themselves. With the development of science and technology, newtechnology and production come into being. New words are needed to name them, soin EST, compound words, especially compound nouns should be paid more attention.In a sense, mastering the translation skills of compound nouns influences the level ofthe whole scientific translation in a way. It seems that the component parts ofcompound words are mutual independent, however, as a matter of fact; they express anintegrated concept together.This thesis first introduces the basic theoretical knowledge about the translationof compound nouns in EST briefly, and then discuss the skill of translating compoundnouns in EST by analyzing the translated text of Nano/Micro Photonics and NewApplications about10thousand words.The first chapter of this thesis introduces the research background of this subject,the research methodology, the structure of the thesis and the theoretical and practicalsignificance briefly. In Chapter2, it expounds the compound word and compound nounin EST, and introduces the existing current research situation of compound noun inEST. Chapter3is the focal point of the full thesis, and it analyzes the problems intranslation of compound nouns in EST in four angles, such as in conventionalunderstanding and translation, unconventional understanding and translation,translation on the level of semantic function and logical relationship. It alsoenumerates some cases to each kind of translation method and analyzes themspecifically. The last chapter lays particular emphasis on the problems which would beencountered by the translator in translating the compound nouns in EST, and analyzessome cases to try to find appropriate solution for the translation of compound nouns inEST.更多还原
