【摘要】 作为语言学的一门分支学科,语用学研究的是在特定情景中的特定话语,即在不同的交际环境下如何理解和运用语言。在本文中涉及到的语用学理论为语言间接性理论、言语行为理论和会话含义理论。英语语调研究的是话语中音调的高低变化以及其他的超音段特征如重音和停顿等。这些语调特征是言语表达的重要方式,对说话人的表达和听话者的理解起着至关重要的作用。语调的变化不仅能引起句子意思的变化,更能更好地表达说话者的态度、感受等情绪。本文主要运用了语用学的语言间接性理论、言语行为理论和会话含义理论重新概括了英语语调的表态功能、强调功能、语义功能及话语功能。结合语用学的理论,作者引用了欧美原版电影中的一些人物对话作为语料进行分析,对英语语调的一些功能做了新的概括。为了达到成功的交际,交际的参与者都应该了解语调的重要性并且学会理解不同的语调意义。更多还原

【Abstract】 As one branch of linguistics, pragmatics studies meaning in context. It deals with particular utterances in particular situations and is especially concerned with the various ways in which the many social contexts of language performances can influence interpretation. In this paper, direct speech act, indirect speech act and implicature theory are discussed and expounded..English intonation studies the pitch variations in utterances and other paralinguistic features such as stress and stop.These intonational features are important elements in expressing speakers’true meanings.The changes of tones can not only change the meaning of a sentence,but also help to show the speaker’s attitude, feelings, particular emotions and mood.This paper discusses the attitudinal function, expressive function, accentual function, semantic function and discoursal function of English intonation by analyzing speech act theory and implicature theory. Some dialogues from original movies and TV serials are quoted and analyzed and a new classification of the functions of English intonation is made.It is concluded that in order to have a highly successful communication, participants of the two sides should both bear in mind the importance of different intonations and learn to recognize the different intonational meanings.更多还原
