【摘要】 学习动机被认为是语言学习的关键因素。以激发学生的学习动机为目的,探究式英语课堂教学从2002年9月1日起在辽宁省150所中学开始试行。本文是对动机和探究式英语课堂教学进行的调查报告。论文首先介绍了那些对语言教师最具启发性的理论。重点介绍认知理论和社会建构主义理论,因为这些理论强调个人对学习经验的理解,并强调学习动机主要取决于个人的思想和感觉。本文还详细介绍探究式英语课堂教学这种教学模式。首先简介探究式教学的大体情况,然后分析现在学生的情况以及针对这种情况设计实验。并详细介绍在实际教学中课内外所进行的活动和做法及保障性的措施。此文还通过调查,分析和讨论详细阐述通过调查问卷和考试得到的发现并进行细致的分析。最后讨论这种教学模式的优势及存在的问题并提出一些圆满完成实验的建议。最后本文在对调查问卷和其他方式进行分析的基础上得出结论:探究式英语课堂教学模式在激发学生动机,培养学生语言能力方面效果显著。因此,有必要在试验的基础上进一步完善和推广。更多还原

【Abstract】 Motivation is believed to be the key element in language learning. With the purpose of stimulating learner’s motivation, a new teaching mode, inquiry-based classroom teaching, has been conducted in 150 high schools of Liaoning province since Sep.1st, 2002. This paper implemented a survey on the relationship between motivation and the new teaching mode. The paper first focuses upon the ideas and approaches which we find most enlightening and which we consider to have the most helpful implications for language teachers. In particular, the thesis focuses on what has come to be termed a cognitive and social constructivist approach to motivation where the emphasis is placed upon ways in which individuals make sense of their learning experiences and are seen as being motivated primarily by their conscious thoughts and feelings.The paper lay more emphases on explaining the inquiry-based teaching mode in detail. After a brief introduction to it, the present situation of the students will be analyzed and accordingly the experiment will be designed. Then the thesis focuses on introducing the actual activities both in and out of class together with supporting aspects.The writer also made investigations, analyses and discussions so as to give a detailed description of academic findings and those through questionnaires will be given along with thoughtful analyses. Finally, discussions will be given as to the advantages of inquiry-based teaching mode as well as some existing problems and at last some suggestions to fulfill the experiment.A conclusion will be drawn on the basis of investigations and analyses obtained through questionnaires and other means.The inquiry-based teaching mode is extremely effective in motivating the learner to develop their language proficiency. It is therefore necessary for this kind of teaching mode to be introduced and further carried out in other areas of China although there still exist some problems.更多还原
