【摘要】 文化、政治、社会学领域对霸权进行了广泛而深入的研究。把霸权问题与意识形态、国家、市民社会、政治、文化等联系起来进行全面而深刻地理论探索的学者首推葛兰西。葛兰西已将霸权当作一切历史时代处于支配地位的集团维持自己统治以及从属集团发展为统治阶级的有效手段。在这个意义上,霸权就是社会集团使自己的支配的正当化、使自己的统治合法化的政治活动。在当代社会,霸权日益以话语的形式体现或传播。然而,迄今为止,话语中的霸权未得到应有的重视。本文尝试从功能语言学的角度对话语中隐含的霸权进行研究,力图建立一个话语霸权的三层模式,包括话语霸权的表征模式(representational pattern)、互动模式(interactional pattern)、接合模式(articulatory pattern)。此三层模式分别用于探讨话语霸权中的控制(manipulation)、劝说(persuasion)、接合(articulation)。本论文共分七章,第一章为引言,对论文做了总体介绍,重在阐明话语霸权这一概念,本论文的理论基础、研究程序及方法、研究目标及意义。第二章概述话语霸权的研究成果,论述功能语言学可运用于研究话语霸权。第三章从功能语言学理论和费尔克拉夫的批评话语分析模式两种角度,简要概述与本论文相关的理论框架。第四章基于语场理论和及物性系统,建构话语霸权的表征模式,阐述话语中的控制功能;第五章基于语旨理论和情态、评价系统,建构话语霸权的互动模式,阐述话语中的劝说功能;第六章基于语式理论、互文性理论,建构话语霸权的接合模式,阐述话语中的接合功能。最后一章是论文的总结,着重归纳和解释话语霸权的三种模式,并指出本论文的不足之处以及本研究的发展方向。话语霸权的研究局限于文化、政治、社会学研究领域。本文是从语言学理论角度对话语霸权进行研究的一次尝试,希望能够为话语霸权的研究带来一些新的气息。同时,本研究也证明了功能语言学的可适用性特点,拓展了功能语言学的研究领域。更多还原

【Abstract】 Hegemony has been extensively expounded from the political, cultural and social aspects and gets few studies in the aspect of language partly because language does not get enough attention from the scholars in those aspects. This thesis attempts to study discursive hegemony within the theoretical framework of Systemic Functional Linguistics. Discursive hegemony refers to a kind of power that can be uncovered through analysis of form-meaning of discourse.This thesis probes within the linguistic theory (SFL) discursive hegemony by means of constructing three patterns: representational, interactional, and articulatory ones which are useful to respectively explore manipulation, persuasion, and articulation. We argue that manipulation, persuasion and articulation are classified here as forms of discursive hegemony, but all three lack certain generic characteristics because they have interwoven together and do not have clear-cut boundary. The analytical model of SFL has the same idea; the ideational, interpersonal and textual functions consist of three orientations to language, which exist simultaneously in every levels of language. Any text can be regarded as simultaneously interweaving ideational, interpersonal, and textual function. The three metafunctions are realized with their own subsystems referred to earlier and in turn these subsystems (transitivity, voice, modality, appraisal, thematic structure, information structure, and media) are composed of multi-parameters for linguistic analyses. Therefore multi-level linguistic theory of SFL seeing language a social semiotic is appliable to explore discursive hegemony implied in discourse.The thesis is composed of seven chapters. The first chapter is a general introduction to the thesis, encompassing the concept of discursive hegemony, rationale of the thesis, research procedure and methodology, aim and significance, and the organization of the thesis. Chapter 2 gives a literature review of discursive hegemony and argues that SFL is appliable to debating upon discursive hegemony with detailed exposition of social approach to language within the linguistic theory. Chapter 3 presents the SFL theoretical framework and Fairclough’s CDA model. Chapter 4, 5 and 6 mainly deal with the three specifications of discursive hegemony respectively from the three perspectives of social action, role structure and symbolic structure. We argue that the three variables of register (field, tenor and mode) within the contextual theory of SFL contribute to discussion of discursive hegemony from the linguistic perspective. Chapter 4 constructs the representational model of hegemony (manipulation), in terms of field of discourse, transitivity system, and discourse (as representation), which is practical to uncover the way of how the discursive hegemony exists in the content of text, and means that discourse may be the representation of dominant forces to channel the direction of social and cultural changes which is influencing the contemporary society. Chapter 5 shows the interactional pattern of discursive hegemony from the perspective of the enactment of social roles and relations, in which tenor, modality and appraisal, and discourse (as identification) are used to explore persuasion as one form of hegemony. Chapter 6 brings forth the articulatory pattern of discursive hegemony, which signifies the organization of hegemonic discourse or the way of how discursive hegemony is symbolically articulated in discourse, from the perspective of textual function and the intertextual context theory (intertextuality). Chapter 7 summarizes the thesis, displaying the findings of the present study within the theory of SFL. And the limitations of the thesis will also be pointed out in order to show the further research on this topic.The thesis is a tentative attempt to explore discursive hegemony within the framework of linguistic theory, which hopes that the theoretical and practical significance of the three patterns of discursive hegemony can provide the inspirations and novel insights in the academic fields of researching hegemony including critical discourse analysis, cultural study, and social sciences.更多还原
