射频识别标签芯片数字控制器的设计

【摘要】 射频识别(RFID)技术是随着大规模集成电路技术的发展与成熟而逐渐兴起的一项自动识别技术。RFID电子标签作为一种非接触IC卡,它将射频技术和IC技术结合,电子标签和读卡器通过无线电波进行非接触双向通讯来读取数据。与接触式IC卡相比,电子标签具有较大的数据容量和较快的读写速度,因而获得了广泛的应用。电子标签芯片包括模拟前端,数字控制器,存储单元三个部分,其中数字控制器实现对整个芯片的功能控制。本文完成了工作频率为13.56 MHz,符合ISO/IEC15693标准的电子标签芯片数字控制器的设计。论文首先对RFID技术原理和应用前景进行了概述,然后对ISO/IEC15693标准进行了分析,再根据ISO/IEC15693标准对数字控制器进行了模块的划分。数字控制器共分为六个模块:脉冲位置解码,接收CRC校验,CRC产生,状态机,编码和调制,以及EEPROM控制。论文详细分析了各个模块的功能、接口以及模块之间的时序,接下来,对2K bit的EEPROM进行了存储空间的安排,包括对EEPROM操作的时序介绍,之后,对数字控制器各个模块进行了设计,给出了各个模块的设计思想及工作流程图,论文的最后,给出一些典型的电子标签操作的仿真波形并对仿真结果进行了分析。数字控制器各个模块的功能仿真及后仿真都在ModelSim SE 5.7的环境下完成,芯片的综合采用SMIC 0.35μm嵌入式EEPROM工艺综合库,功能仿真和后仿真结果表明数字控制器的设计符合既定的要求。目前,该电子标签芯片已投片。

【Abstract】 Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), as an automatic identification technology, is developed with the maturity of large scale integrated circuits. RFID tag is a kind of contactless integrated circuit cards, which is a combination of radio frequency technique and integrated circuit card technique. A tag is based on radio frequency communication to exchange data with a specified RFID reader. Compared with traditional IC card, RFID tag has more extensive applications for its advantages such as larger data storage capacity and faster transmission speed.A RFID tag chip is composed of analog front end, digital controller and memory, among which the digital controller realizes the intelligent function of the whole chip. In this paper the digital controller of a RFID tag chip is designed which operates at 13.56 MHz according to ISO/IEC15693.The paper begins with demonstrating the theory and perspective of application of RFID, then describes the protocol of ISO/IEC15693. The digital controller includes pulse position decoder module, CRC (cyclic redundancy check) verifying and generation module, encoder and modulation module, EEPROM controller module, and finite state machines (FSM) module. The function and interface of each module is analyzed in detail in the paper. The emphasis of the paper is the design of each module. At last, the waveform of typical tag operation such as reading a block, writing a block is listed.The function simulation and back-end simulation of each module is executed in Modelsim SE 5.7. The result of simulation indicates it can work well. The RFID tag chip is implemented in SMIC 0.35μm three-metal two-poly mixed signal CMOS technology with embedded EEPROM.
