光纤通信中的偏振模色散及其补偿的研究

【摘要】 目前偏振模色散已成为长距离传输、高速率数据和模拟系统的主要限制因素。特别是当光纤通信系统单信道传输速率达到40Gbit/s或以上时,偏振模色散效应已不可忽略,它严重影响了信号传输质量,造成数字通信的码间干扰。由于偏振模色散在传输过程中易受外界环境影响而呈统计特性,它的补偿相对色度色散补偿比较复杂,因此偏振模色散被认为是影响光纤传输系统性能的最终因素。本文首先介绍了国内外的发展状况,指出研究偏振模色散的测试和补偿技术对提高我国高速光纤通信技术的水平具有非常重要的意义。对描述偏振模色散的有关概念及其特性等作了总结。对偏振模色散的描述方法和测试技术进行了分析,对各种描述方法及测试技术的优缺点进行了比较。从偏振主态的概念出发,推导了一阶偏振模色散引起的脉冲展宽的均方值表达式,描述了偏振模色散对信号的展宽作用。随后研究了偏振模色散引起的脉冲展宽对接收机灵敏度的恶化以及对接收信号频谱的影响。偏振模色散的补偿技术是本文研究的重点。文中首先描述了一阶偏振模色散补偿的基本原理,在此基础上,分析并比较了偏振度、基带射频带宽、眼图以及误码率等各种偏振模自动补偿系统的反馈控制信号。给出了偏振模色散补偿系统的一般模型,对各个模块和关键技术进行较为详细的讨论。对现有的各种偏振模色散补偿技术的优缺点作了比较。为了对高速光通信系统中偏振模色散进行补偿,构建了一个较完整的光通信系统的仿真模型,并对模型进行了简要的分析。

【Abstract】 At present, polarization mode dispersion (PMD) has become an important limiting factor for the performance of long distance transmission, high rate data and analog communication systems. Further more, as the bit-rate of a single channel in optical fiber transmission approaches 40Gbit/s or beyond, the effect of PMD can’t be neglected. It makes the intersymbol interference and corrupts severely the performance of the system. Because of the impact of the circumstance, PMD shows statistical characterization. It makes the compensation of PMD become difficult and PMD was considered the final factor of the optical communication.According to the research status in China as well as in the world, it is crucial to carry on the research on PMD for improving the domestic high bitrate optical fiber communication technology. First, a summary of the relating concepts of PMD and its statistics nature was given in this paper. Then analyses description method on PMD and techniques for PMD measurement and compares their advantages and disadvantages. An expression of PMD-induced pulse broadening was derived based on principal state polarization (PSP), which is the description for first-order PMD; then discussed the deterioration of receiver’s sensitivity caused by PMD and the effect of PMD on RF spectrum at the receiver.The focus topic of this thesis is the PMD compensation technology. We first present the principle of first-order PMDC and a general model of PMDC. On this foundation, analyses and compares every feedbake of the automatism compensation system for compensating the PMD such as DOP, the power in a narrow-band or tones of the radio-frequency(RF), the eye-opening and BER. Then describe each sub-model, respectively, and give a summary.We analyse the compensation technology and compare their advantages and disadvantages. In order to compensate the system of high-speed optical communication link, we set up an integrated emulational model of the optical communication link and have a brief analysis of the model.
