【摘要】 作为最具影响力的美国华裔作家之一，马克辛·洪·金斯敦(汤亭亭)以创作于不同时期的三部主要作品《女勇士》、《中国佬》及《孙行者》传达了处于美国边缘社会群体的呼声。她试图从自身和族裔的经历中探索身为美国华裔的身份意义，而这也构成了这些作品的主题。 本文旨在整合这三部作品所包含的思想内容，深入探讨其中蕴涵的身份寻求主题。作为讨论的基础，论文列举剖析了有着不同身份倾向特征的华裔美国人。同时，论文也探讨了作品中的华裔所面对的身份认同困境以及导致这种困境的各种因素。对华裔美国人独特身份的构建始终是金斯敦作品的主旨之一。通过对以自己的祖先和家族为代表的华裔的移民史及其美国生活经历的回顾，金斯敦树立了华裔美国人的新形象。另一方面，她通过改写中国经典和民间传说来表述她所谓的“美国故事”，试图依托美国多元文化社会的语境，构建起植根于中国文化基础之上的华裔美国人的文化身份。更多还原

【Abstract】 Being one of the most influential Chinese American writers, Maxine Hong Kingston has given voice to a marginalized community with her three major works-The Woman Warrior, China Men and Tripmaster Monkey, created in different periods of her writing career. Her attempt to sort out what being Chinese American means through the exploration of her own experiences and those of her peers constitutes the central theme of her works.This paper aims at a penetrating study on the theme of identity-seeking by integrating the contents and thoughts carried in her three works. Chinese Americans showing different identity tendencies are analyzed as the basis of discussion. The identity dilemma experienced by Chinese Americans in Kingston’s works and factors leading to it are also expounded. Establishment of a distinct identity for Chinese Americans has always been one of the purposes of Kingston’s works. By reviewing the immigrant history and the life experiences of Chinese Americans as represented by her ancestry and her family, she has set up new images of Chinese Americans. What’s more, by adapting Chinese classics and folk tales to present what she called "American story", she tries to establish Chinese Americans’ cultural identity on the basis of Chinese culture in the multicultural American society.更多还原
