【Abstract】 Recently, there has been growing interest in translator during the course of translation in terms of the manipulation theory. Casting doubt on translator serving as a servant in traditional translation theory, the "cultural turn" in translation studies is of prime importance not only in strengthening the position of translated text but also promoting translator from a humble level. To win his primary position, the translator tends to dwarf the traditional theory featured by the source text orientation. However, translator, in fact, is no more an absolute servant than being a solely subject in translation activity. This study carries forward the exploration of the translator with a detailed description of manipulations, intending to reconsider the role played by translator-------a manipulated manipulator, which grants more freedom for translatoraccompanying with the constraints bounded. As far as the poetics is concerned, prejudices against the fiction translation will be the last to be absent. Only the content or plot will be the requisite to reappear in the translated fiction, and readable as a yardstick for fiction translator is generally acceptable, though it never occurs to the translator of poetry. Being manipulated by the above-mentioned biases, fiction translators are required to reshape their status by displaying their creative ability. Anti-manipulation constitutes a term implying an embodiment of creativeness, which brings subjectivity of translators into full play, and simultaneously reflects their opposing the traditional prejudice on fiction translation. This paper consists of three parts. Chapter One provides a sketchy review of the development of Manipulation School with a detailed analysis of ideology and poetics put forward by Andre Lefevere. Followed by a discussion of the status quo of it so as to demarcate the scope of this paper by pointing out a balance of manipulations for translator should be achieved during translating activities.A tentative exploration of the ideology and its interactions with translation,
