LDA侧面泵浦全固态激光器及其频率转换特性研究

【摘要】 激光二极管泵浦固体激光器(DPSSL,DPL)具有高效率、结构紧凑、工作稳定、寿命长和全固化等优点,目前已经实现了连续、调Q脉冲和锁模脉冲等模式激光运转。该类激光器在材料加工、军事、医疗、科研等领域获得了广泛的应用,目前已成为国际上新型固体激光器的研究和发展热点,高功率全固态DPL正逐渐成为主流激光器。高功率LD泵浦绿光激光器因其在材料加工、同位素分离等领域的潜在应用更是各发达国家致力研究的重点,国内也开展了这方面的工作,但与国外相比,技术上还存在相当大的差距。另一方面,波长1570nm的人眼安全激光,在激光测距上有广泛的应用,全固态的光学参量振荡激光器(Optical ParametricOscillator,简称OPO)是实现1570nm人眼安全激光的主要技术途径,KTP-OPO系统更是其中的研究热点之一。本论文主要对连续运转的高功率二极管阵列(LDA)侧面泵浦的Nd:YAG/KTP腔内倍频绿光激光器以及调Q运转的Nd:YAG/KTP内腔式单共振光参量振荡激光器进行了理论分析和实验研究。论文主要内容概括为:1、回顾了全固态激光器的历史和发展;介绍了适合LD泵浦的激光晶体及其主要特性。总结了腔内倍频激光器和1570nm人眼安全激光器的研究现状。2、介绍了Nd:YAG晶体的各种特性,并对我们实验中所使用LDA侧面泵浦Nd:YAG模块的组件结构和基本输出特性进行了说明,最后对YAG棒的热透镜效应进行了实验测量,拟合出热透镜焦距随泵浦电流变化的公式。3、分析了倍频激光器的连续运转理论和KTP晶体相位匹配理论,结合Nd:YAG热透镜效应的分析,选择KTP为倍频晶体,从理论及实验上研究了连续运转的LDA侧面泵浦Nd:YAG倍频绿光激光器。为寻找最优化结构,分别选用了直腔、V型腔和Z型腔三种腔型,实验中得到连续绿光输出。分别分析了三种腔型输出的绿光特性,其中直腔结构下阈值电流为6.6A,当泵浦电流为19A时,测得532nm

【Abstract】 Diode-pumped solid-state lasers (DPSSL, or DPL) have become a developingfocus in novel solid-state lasers and have wide applications in material processing,military, medical therapeutics, basic research, etc. Due to their advantages, such as highefficiency, compactness, stability, long lifetime and all solid-state construction,high power solid-state lasers are becoming mainstream lasers, and high-power LDpumped green laser has become the researching emphasis because its potentialapplications in material processing, laser isolation of uranium isotopes, etc. The laserwith output wavelength at 1570nm is widely used in range finding because they arerelatively safe to people’s eyes. Optical Parametric Oscillator (OPO) pumped by1064nm Nd:YAG laser at 1570nm is one of the most effective way to get the eye-safelaser.A high-power LDA side-pumped Nd:YAG/KTP green laser and OPO are reportedtheoretically and experimentally.The content of this dissertation is as follows:1. The history and development of all solid state lasers are reviewed;lasercrystals suitable for LD pumping and their main performances areintroduced, then the research statue of frequency-doubling laser and1570nm wavelength eye-safe laser are summarized.2. The characteristics of Nd:YAG crystal and Nd:YAG module by LDAside-pumped are introduced;and the thermal effect of YAG rod is studiedexperimentally;the phase matching properties of the negative dual-axiscrystal is researched, and the phase matching of KTP crystal at 1064nmis discussed in the second chapter.3. Considering the thermal effect, selecting KTP as the frequency-doublingcrystal , the LDA side-pumped Nd:YAG continuous lasers are studiedtheoretically and experimentally;The green laser is experimented bylinear cavity、V type cavity and Z type cavity respectively;the thresholdcurrency of 6.6A with linear cavity, the CW output power of 532 nm isachieved at 2.8 W with the incident currency of 19A, and theelectro-optical efficiency is 0.71%;the threshold incident currency is7.5A with V type cavity, and the output power of 532 nm is 3.264 W withthe incident currency of 17A and the electro-optical efficiency is 0.932%;while the incident currency is 14A with Z type cavity, and the outputpower of 532 nm is 3.75W with the incident currency of 23A and theelectro-optical efficiency is 0.77%.4. 1570nm quasi-continuous laser is realized by puttingnon-critical-phase-matched KTP into LDA side-pumped Nd:YAG AOQ-switched laser which constructed an intra-cavity OPO;at the incidentcurrent of 14.5 A , 1570 nm output power of 1.748W is produced withthe frequency of 10kHz, the output coupler transmission is 15%.
