H.264编码器的DSP实现与优化

【摘要】 在尽可能低的带宽下传输高质量的视频并能适应不同网络的传输要求一直是人们的追求目标,为此ITU-T的视频编码专家组(VCEG)及ISO/IEC的活动图像专家组(MPEG)联合组成的联合视频专家组(JVT)在2003年3月公布了新一代的视频压缩标准,此标准被称为ITU-T的H.264协议或ISO/IEC的MPEG4的高级视频编码部分(AVC),在相同编码质量下H.264/AVC标准相对于H.263标准能节省50%的码流,且其分层的设计思想提高了编码器对不同网络的亲和性,所以自该标准推出以来就一直得到业界的广泛关注。但是标准的高复杂度也是目前视频应用的主要制约因素,所以研究标准在DSP上的实现及优化是非常有意义的。 本文从分析H.264的核心技术开始,具体介绍了H.264在提高编码效率上所采取的一系列技术,这部分工作主要是基于对标准的研究和国内外文献的阅读;然后本文研究了多模式快速选择方法,提出了快速多模式运动估计算法FMME,并实验验证了该算法的有效性,在此基础上实现了DM642平台上的H.264 Baseline编码器,并从程序员的角度对DSP平台软件优化的方法进行了细致的分析,这部分工作基于大量的实验结果分析;最后本文给出了利用本文算法实现的H.264网络摄像机的性能分析,由实验结果可知,本文的编码器达到了实时应用的要求,具有一定的应用价值。相信本文所做工作将对H.264标准的实际应用和推广起到一定作用。

【Abstract】 Transmitting the video of high-quality through the narrow bandwidth and adapting to various networks are always pursuits of people, so a new international video coding standard was released on Mar 2003, and was jointly being made by ITU-T Video Coding Experts Group(VCEG) and ISO/IEC Moving Picture Experts Group(MPEG),named as joint video team(JVT). This standard was known as ITU-T Recommendation H.264 and as ISO/IEC 14496(MPEG-4) Part 10. Compared with other prior video coding standards, such as MPEG-2, MPEG-4 ASP and H.263, about 50% bits can be saved and more adaptive to various networks with design of 2-layers. H.264 has been gotten much attention from research area and industry all through, but the high-complexity of H.264 has always been a factor of restriction of application mostly, so to study the implement and optimization of H.264 based on DSP is significant.In this paper, based on the research of standard and reading of magazines, the key technologies of H.264 are introduced first, and the technologies to enhance the efficiency of encoding are emphasized on; then the fast multi-mode decision algorithm especially fast multi-mode motion estimation (FMME) algorithm is provided, and some experiments are present. Based on these, the baseline encoder on DM642 is implemented. From the point of view of programmer, the methods of optimization on DSP are analyzed in detail, these parts, which based on research of experiments; at last, the performance of H.264 network camera is given, and from the results of experiment, this encoder, which can realize real-time coding has a good value in practice. Therefore what has been studied should be a promotion to make H.264 work in practice and in wide use.
