基于VIA的光纤通道交换网MPI的研究与实现

【摘要】 目前,国内航空电子综合系统的数据通信网络主要采用MIL-STD-1553B,而国外第四代航空电子综合系统已经采用了基于光纤互连的高性能集群系统。针对这种现状,作者的导师申请了航空科学基金项目“面向航空电子综合系统的光纤传输交换技术研究”(02F53031)。作者参加了该项目的研究,负责研究光纤通道交换网FC-NET(FibreChannel-Network)的通信协议,主要研究工作包括以卜儿个方面: 为了在光纤通道交换网中集成Fibre Channel和VIA(Virtual Interface Architecture)技术,本文提出了基于对象的驱动程序设计方案,该驱动程序设计方案采用了分层结构设计思路。本文将其集成到VIA的实现中,缩短了VIA系统的设备驱动开发周期,提高了代码的重用性,增强了VIA的扩展性。 针对高性能集群系统的低延迟、高带宽的需求,并且为了在光纤通道交换网基础上进一步提高集群系统的数据通信效率,作者设计了支持VIA(Virtual Interface Architecture)技术的用户层通信协议——FC-VIA通信协议。FC-VIA采用了基于Linux底半函数的核心代理机制,一方面在通信的发送端和接收端实现了零拷贝数据通信,另一方面实现了软件VI队列的管理。FC-VIA与全软件方法实现VIA的M-VIA相比,有效地提高了数据通信效率:FC-VIA的通信延迟为4微秒,通信带宽为686Mbps:而M-VIA在千兆以太网中的通信延迟高达19微秒,通信带宽仅为480Mbps。 另外,为了实现光纤通道交换网在航空电子综合系统中的应用,本文对航空电子综合系统广泛采用的MPICH底层通信库进行了扩展,设计了支持FC-VIA通信协议的MPI-FC-VIA并行库。从长远来看,本论文对光纤通道交换网通信协议的研究具有深远的意义。
【Abstract】 Now, avionics system of data communication network mainly uses MIL-STD-1553B. In foreign advanced countries, the fourth generation avionics system of data communication network is cluster system based on fibre interconnection.The author’s teacher applied for aviation scientific fund project "Avionics system oriented Fibre Channel switched Network" (02F53031).The auther took part in that project. The research focuses are communication protocol of Fibre Channel switched Network (FC-NET). Main research work includes the following several works:In order to integrate Fibre Channel and VIA technologies into FC-NET, this paper has put forward a new design scheme of driver based on object oriented technology. The 3 layers structure has been adopted in this scheme and applied to implement the VIA communication protocol, which can shortened VIA drivers development cycle and raised the code reusability and strengthened the scalability of VIA.This paper has put forward FC-VIA (Fibre Channel-Virtual Interface Architecture) communication protocol, which accords with the user-layer communication protocol industrial standard of VIA technology and supports the demand of low latency and high bandwidth for the high-performance cluster system, on the basis of Fibre Channel switched Network. The Kernel Agent mechanism based on Linux system Bottom Half Function is used. On one hand, it implemented the zero copy data communication between sender and receiver. On the other hand, it also implemented the management of VI queues on the software layer. FC-VIA is compared with M-VIA of giga-bit Ethernet, in which the VIA is implemented wholely by software method. In FC-VIA communication latency is 4 microseconds and communication bandwidth is 686Mbps. But in M-VIA communication latency is 19 microseconds and commnunication bandwidth is 480Mbps under giga-bit Ethernet.In order that FC-NET can be used in the avionics system easily, MPI-FC-VIA has been designed to support FC-V1A communication protocol through adding bottom layer communication library in the MPICH. In the long run, this paper has far-reaching meanings to the research of communication protocol of Fibre Channel switched Network.
