UMTS数据业务QoS保证机制的研究与实现

【摘要】 第三代移动通信系统为用户提供多种数据业务,由于用户对业务的性能要求不断提高,服务质量成为系统的重要指标,尤其是实时业务对网络和系统性能的要求最为苛刻。IETF提出两种QoS的解决方案,综合服务模型IntServ采用资源预留方法为业务提供较为精确的QoS保证;区分服务模型DiffServ实施简单,扩展性更好。比较两种服务模型的特点后,本文详细探讨了UMTS系统数据业务的QoS保证机制,在接入网络采用IntServ模型,核心网部分采用DiffServ模型,并结合ATM网络自身的特点实现了端到端QoS的体系结构。在该体系结构中,深入分析为保证商定的QoS协议各层所需要提供的功能,阐述了QoS的协商、QoS的修改、以及用户切换网络后QoS的重协商过程。最后对系统信令流程和各种数据业务的QoS特性进行测试得出结论。同时对UMTS网络未来的发展方向做了总结,指出未来对QoS改进的措施,对今后网络资源管理和规划具有重要的参考价值。

【Abstract】 The 3rd mobile communication system provides various services to users. With the increase of requirement on services, the Quality of Service (QoS) has become one of the most important targets of the system, specially the real time service has the most rigorous requirement on the capability of network and system. IETF put forward two models for QoS. One is Integrated Services (IntServ), which guarantees the QoS exactly by resource reservation. The other is Differentiated Services (DiffServ), which is simple and expandable. On the comparation of two models, IntServ model is applied to access network while DiffServ model is applied to core network in UMTS. And the mechanism to guarantee the QoS on UMTS network is proposed, focuse on the realization of end-to-end QoS framework. In the framework, function of protocol on each layer is discussed, and also considers the charateristics of ATM network. Such work processes as the negotiation of QoS, the modification of QoS and the renegotiation of QoS when users perform inter-region handover are described in detail. Finally, the result is present by testing work process and the QoS of services. And do a summarization on the development of UMTS network, which gives important referrence to resource management and programing for the network in the future.
