【摘要】 本文试图对位于四川中部南北线的绵阳、德阳、广元、乐山、攀枝花等五个城市及所在区域进行长时段的考察和研究。 为此，本文首先简单介绍了区域环境特点，并简要回顾了这些城市在古代、近代的发展历程。随即较详细地描述了建国后到改革开放前的三十年间，绵阳等五城市在交通、工业上的进步与发展，着重分析了大规模三线建设对这些城市的影响。同时，在这一部分里，本文还对超常发展的攀枝花进行了较深入的研究。 接着，本文重点论述了改革开放后到2000年的二十多年里，绵阳等城市的发展特征，较深入地分析了影响它们发展的有利因素和不利因素，并较细致地探讨了它们在成德绵产业带和四川中部南北线经济带中的地位和作用。 最后，本文指出：培育和壮大自己的优势产业和支柱产业，加强同区域内其他城市的经济联系和合作，是加快中等城市发展的关键。而中等城市由于在促进区域经济协调发展上有重要作用，因而是城市体系中联系大城市和小城市的中间环节，具有不可替代的作用。在首位性突出和城市化水平低的地区，它的发展还对改善区域城市体系、促进经济带的形成和乡村城市化起明显的推动作用。更多还原

【Abstract】 Sichuan is an important province in the west of China. However, development of Sichuan is slow due to having no big cities. The cities can’t coordinate also. It is not decorous to status of Sichuan.For the purpose of fast development, Sichuan should take advantage of provincial capital-Chengdu to pull regional economy, and take medium-sized cites into account. Besides development of medium-sized cites can ameliorate the system of Sichuan cities and speed up regional economy.Mianyang and Deyang are the fastest developing cities in Sichuan province. Leshan, Panzhihua, Guangyuan developed fast in 2000. These five medium-sized cities are hopeful to form a large industry area., and become most powerful development poles in the west of China.Finaly the author point out medium-sized cites are very important middle tache in city system and play an important role in regional economy. In addition, medium-sized cites can boost country and mini-cities area.更多还原
