【摘要】 陕西作为中华民族的发祥地之一，其城市历史悠久。20世纪以来，伴随着陕西社会经济的变迁，陕西城市也在不断发展变化着，陕西中等城市也在此期间获得较大发展，从而脱颖而出，成为陕西城市体系中重要一环。20世纪前半期，由于陕西社会经济发展的落后，导致陕西城市的发展也相应滞后。其中，抗日战争在陕西经济与城市发展中的影响是极为深远的。同时，20世纪前半期新兴交通方式—铁路的出现也改变了陕西城市的分布。20世纪后半期，随着陕西社会经济的恢复和发展，陕西城市也重新获得了生机。另一方面，由于受历史及自然条件的影响，陕西社会经济发展与东部发达地区相比，仍显滞后，陕西城市的规模大多较小，城市规模体系不完整，大城市缺失，陕西中等城市在陕西社会经济发展中的地位益加突出。同时，陕西城市的分布很不平衡，形成了关中、陕北与陕南三大区域的差异。陕西中等城市在区域分布上的差异更为显著。此外，水源缺乏、环境污染严重、城市产业结构老化等问题也困扰着陕西中等城市的发展。西部大开发给陕西中等城市与区域发展带来了新的历史机遇。实现可持续发展是陕西中等城市与区域发展的战略选择。更多还原

【Abstract】 As one of the cultural birthplaces for Chinese nation, there are many cities with a long history in Shanxi province. Since the 20th century, with the social and economic development, the medium-sized cities have showed their imp romance in the city system of Shanxi province. In the first half of the 20th century, the backward social economy resulted to the lagging city development. In addition, the Anti-Japanese war and the birth of railway in Shanxi province are also the important factors influencing the city development in Shanxi province. In the latter 20th century, the cities of Shanxi province got a renascence due to the social economic recovering and development. The development of society and economy of Shanxi province falls behind the advanced regions of China because of the factors of history and natural situation. So the most of the cities of Shanxi province are small, and not integrated, and there are few big cities in Shanxi province, which makes the medium-sized cities act a very important role in the social economic development of Shanxi province. Menwhile, the city distribution in Shanxi province is not balanceable, which resulted the regional difference among the middle, the northern and the southern regions of Shanxi province. And the regional difference of the distribution of the medium-sized cities becomes more distinct. In addition, the problems, etc lack of the water, the seriously pollutedenvironment, and the aging city industry structure and so on, puzzle the development of the medium-sized cities. The development of western regions is a great opportunity to the development of the medium-sized cities and region of Shanxi province. Realizing the sustainable development is the strategic choice to the medium-sized cities and region of Shanxi province.更多还原
