【摘要】 计算机系统的发展,对高性能、高可用性的系统的需求越来越大。除了发展更快、更稳定的硬件设备之外,更为有效和彻底的解决方案是进行并行化计算。集群方式作为快捷、有效的并行化计算方式,能够提供可扩展性强、高可用性和性能高的系统,成为了并行系统的重要解决方案。现有的各种高可用性服务器、高性能计算平台和商用服务器都可以采用集群方式进行改造,并且在性能价格比、可扩展性、稳定性等方面都具有比原有方式更强的优势。 视频服务系统是提供数字视频服务整体系统。通过视频服务系统,可以为用户提供数字视频服务,满足人们的日常生活需要。视频服务器处于视频服务系统的核心位置,是整个视频服务系统数据和控制的中心所在,用来保存和播放视频文件。传统的视频服务器采用单服务器方式实现。这种方式一方面缺乏可扩展性,另外一方面却需要较高的成本,不能获得较好的性能价格比。采用集群方式实现视频服务器成为了必然的选择。 本文采用集群方式设计实现的视频服务器被称为LCVS(Linux ClusteredVideo Server)。LCVS适用于提供NVoD(Near Video-on-Demand)、DVB(Digital Video Broadcast)等类似于广播性质的数字视频服务系统。LCVS可以是2到12个节点的规模,满足可扩展性强、性能高、可用性强的要求。在LCVS中实现了可靠的并行文件系统VDFS和系统中间件VD、视频数据块管理和预取模块MM、网络通讯模块CM、存储管理模块SM和高可用性监测模块HA。 根据本文工作的最后结果,证明LCVS实现的视频服务器可以满足视频服务系统的要求,并且能够提供设计时要求达到的性能和表现要求。说明采用集群方式改造原有的单服务器类型的视频服务器最佳的选择。

【Abstract】 With the development of Computer System,the requirements for High Performance and High Available System are increasing. Parallel Computing is a more effective approach to satisfy the requirements other than developing and inventing faster and more stable hardware devices. As a kind of shortcut to parallel computing,cluster computing can supply scalable,high available system with high performance,which is considered as an effective solution for rebuilding existed high performance / availability servers and platforms. The cluster approach can achieve better scalability,stability and cost/ performance value than previous solutions.VSS (Video Service System) is a kind of system used to supply digital video service,which can satisfy people’s daily requirements. VS (Video Server) locates at the core position of VSS,which can save and play digital video files. Traditional VS is implemented as single server,which lacks scalability and requires more cost. So it comes the choice of implementing such servers using cluster technology.In this paper,the VS implemented as Cluster architecture is called LCVS (Linux Clustered Video Server). LCVS is suitable for those digital VSS that can supply services similar to broadcast,such as NVoD (Near Video-on-Demand),DVB (Digital Video Broadcast),etc. LCVS can support 2 to 12 nodes,and it can satisfy the requirements of scalability,high performance and high availability. The reliable parallel file-system (VDFS) and middle-ware module (VD),video data management module (MM),Communication Management module (CM),Storage Management module and High Availability daemon module are designed and implemented as program modules in LCVS system.All of this paper’s work has turned out that cluster computing approach is feasible. As a result,the LCVS is proved as a good solution for VS in dedicated VSS,which can meet the requirements for performance and stability.
