二维非晶光子材料的缺陷态和光子器件的研究

【摘要】 本论文主要由以下三部分组成: 1.二维非晶光子材料的缺陷态 应用多重散射的方法计算了由二维介质柱构成的非晶光子材料的缺陷态。在非晶光子材料中抽掉不同位置的圆柱会产生频率不同的缺陷模,但缺陷模的能量是非常局域的,能量基本上集中在以缺陷波长的1/3为半径的圆内。这表明非晶光子材料中形成的缺陷模不仅具有周期性光子晶体的缺陷模的强局域化特征,而且缺陷模更富于变化。 2.非晶光子材料和光子晶体器件的设计 提出了用介质圆柱光子晶体作微波天线的柱抛物面反射镜,用多重散射方法计算了反射镜的透过谱,并模拟计算了天线的电场分布,初步认为可以用非晶光子材料作微波天线的反射镜。 提出了一种通过二维光子晶体的点缺陷和波导的直接共振耦合制作波分复用器件的方法。应用多重散射的方法模拟计算这种器件的结果显示,当点缺陷对称的分布在中央波导的两侧时,波分解的效率非常高。频率的选择只与相应的光子晶体中点缺陷的缺陷模有关,而与其它点缺陷无关。微波实验的结果与理论模拟吻合的很好。 3.人工Opal光子晶体单畴大小的测定 测定了不同厚度的人工Opal在Γ—L方向的透射谱,得出Opal光子晶体中单畴的尺寸。与理论计算的单晶光子晶体的透射谱比较,得出了我们制作的Opal的单畴在10~3μm~3。这对生长出大块单晶Opal有着重要意义。
【Abstract】 This thesis consists of following three parts:1. Defect states in two-dimensional amorphous photonic materialsThe defect states in two-dimensional amorphous photonic materials composed of dielectric cylinders are calculated by using a multiple scattering method. The simulating results show that the frequencies of the defect states are different from each other when various cylinders are removed, meanwhile the energy of electromagnetic wave is almost localized hi a circle whose radius is less than one-third of the defect wavelength. These reveal that the defect of the amorphous photonic material have the same property as the defect of a periodic photonic crystal for the case of strong energy localization, furthermore the defect modes in the amorphous photonic materials are riche than in the periodic photonic crystal.2. The design of amorphous photonic material and photonic crystal devicementsWe design to make a reflecting mirror of cylinder paraboloid of an antenna by using amorphous photonic materials. We calculated the transmission of the mirror and the distribution of electric field by using multiple scattering method. The result shows that it can be used as a reflecting mirror of an antenna.We propose a frequency selective demultiplexer that is realized by the directly resonant tunneling between waveguides and point defects in a 2D photonic crystal. The multiple scattering method is used to simulate the behavior of the demultiplexer. Result show that the demultiplexing efficiency is very high when the point defects are symmetrically arranged at both sides of the central line of the inlet waveguide. The selective frequency is ongy determined by the defect mode of the corresponding point defect in the photonic crystal and is not affected by the other point defects. A microwave experiment results agree well with the simulation. This structure may be valuable for the design of all-optical integrated circuits.3. Determination of single crystal size in artificial opalsBy measuring the width of the transmission dip in the F桳 direction of face-centered cubic artificial opals with different thicknesses, we determine the size of the single crystal domain in the opal. Comparing with the simulated width of the single crystal opal, we find that the artificial opals possess poly-crystallize structure and the average single crystal size is around 103um3. The analysis is helpful for obtaining the opals with larger single crystal domain.
