【Abstract】 Esophageal cancer is one of the most common gastrointestinal malignancies worldwide. Esophagectomy remains the mainstay of treatment for esophageal cancer. Anastomotic fistula is a severe major postoperative complication that can lead to long-term severe sequelae or even death. Upper gastrointestinal radiography is the most common method for postoperative examination of anastomotic fistula, but false-negative results can sometimes occur.This paper reports that one patient with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma developed anastomotic fistula one week after surgical resection, but three upper gastrointestinal radiographs were negative. This paper aims to strengthen clinicians’ understanding of anastomotic fistula to reduce the rate of missed diagnoses.更多还原
