【Abstract】 Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby is characterized by the use of time.Specically,the narrative time of the novel represents analepsis in the respect of order,with internal analepsis as the main form and external analepsis as the supplementary form. At the same time,the novel’s scenes are characterized by Dostoyevsky’s dialogue in the respect of duration,while measuring changes in narrative time and story time with summary,elipsis and pause.Finally,this novel inherits the tradition in the respect of frequency,with singulative narration as the main form,intertwined with repetitive narration and iterative narration.更多还原
