【Abstract】 As one of the classics of British gothic fiction, The Monk by Matthew Lewis has aroused heated controversy among its contemporary critics since its first issuance due to its sensational story and bold narration. However, his expression of overwhelming physical desire and use of irrational logic endowed the work with a strong sense of "Body Writing" which could be analyzed from three perspectives--the first its abundant body exhibition and a physical logic behind it, the second a clear trace of private writing, and the third its sensual language and desire narrative.更多还原
