【Abstract】 As one of the founding fathers of contemporary library science in China, Liu Kwoh-Chuin made significant contributions to the scholarship and education in this field during its early years. A significant part of his contributions to this field were made during the years when he worked at the Department of Library Science at Peking University. Through drawing letters, archival records, and other materials, this article illustrates his professional career from 1951 to 1952, after he joined Peking University. Special focus was given to how he managed to overcome difficulties in the very early years of the department.更多还原
