【Abstract】 Although John Bunyan and John Milton are of different educational backgrounds and life experiences,their yearnings towards paradise make the common keynote in The Pilgrim’s Progress and Paradise Regained.Both writers,out of their dissatisfaction towards the real space,construct an ideal space-Heaven,no matter it is a celestial kingdom beyond the real world,which Christians are willing to go through hardships to pursue,or it is an earthly paradise Christians conceived out of the dark and evil realities.Paradise writings are embodiments of the writers’ social and political ideals,and reflections of social realities at that time and people’s expectations for a good life as well.更多还原
