【Abstract】 The minimum energy principle( MEP) should not be confused with aufbau principle for building-up of the electrons in atom. The latter is only one of the many applications of the MEP. The Gibbs’ description of the MEP is the complete version of the MEP,which can be proved to be equivalent to the Clausius’ maximum entropy principle with their own specific prerequisites.
