【Abstract】 Individuals’ self-improvement is the pursuit of positive freedom, and the improvement depends on the perfection of all social members. The pursuit of common good and the attention to the public interests are a kind of positive view on the state. This positive national view held and advocated by T·H·Green is not a restriction of freedom of individual education, but for the realization of harmonious development and positive interaction between individual and national interests. What Green has left for us to think about is how to understand the relationship between the state and education as well as how to perform educational functions of the state to promote the realization of public good in education.更多还原
