【Abstract】 Cognitive linguistics,based on the second generation cognitive science and experiential philosophy,unifies visible linguistic phenomenon and human beings’ general cognitive capability so as to reach a more rational and powerful explanation contrasting with that derived from the classic linguistics. With the standpoint of cognitive categorization,the essay specifies internal motivation, necessities and external drive of anticlimax——a particularly effective and powerful rhetorical device——to elaborate how it comes into form.
